Dear Julie,

Thank you so much for such a powerful reflection, it has really spoken to me in this liminal time. I have been very guilty of trying to shore up, polish and waterproof my boat. I know that in the moments when I have conquered the fear that can threaten to overwhelm and have taken a step onto the water I have felt such immense love and reassurance. The David Whyte poem is absolutely amazing, I keep returning to re-read it.

Will try to focus on having the courage to step out of the boat however tentatively in the weeks to come!

This is such a powerful exhortation and reassurance, thank you. Sometimes our boats can be big party cruises with Margaritas and Malbec galore, but they keep us just as small. Every time someone has the honesty to say "me too, and let's step out onto the water anyway", it's like an outstretched hand, beckoning towards the One who is constantly poised to greet us. David Whyte's "you've simply had enough of drowning" spoke to me most powerfully! Thanks again.
